S. M. Batha High School, was established in July1922 by late Hirabai and Shavaksha Batha, a very dedicated, committed, philanthropic couple. Their vision was to provide a sound education to Parsee girls at minimum costs. Their goal was not only to groom the child to be a good homemaker but also to empower her to contribute to the financial stability of their own family.
They began their journey in a Springfield Bungalow on Chesson Road and thereafter expanded it to accommodate more children. Earlier, this institution was known as the Zoroastrian Young Women’s Education Home Z.Y.W. ED. HOME. Later, they opened the doors of this institution for boys and children of all castes and creed.
