The Late Mrs. Hirabai S. Batha Inter-School Volleyball Tournament was held on the 12th and 13th of December, 2018. This was the 3rd consecutive year that our school has hosted the Inter-School Volleyball Tournament.
This tournament was initiated to encourage sports for girls and hence we had invited only girls’ teams these past two years. Last year the participating schools requested that the boys too be included. The Management graciously agreed and this year Under-14 and Under-17 Boys’ teams were included.
39 teams took part in the tournament this year. The school set up 5 courts so that the matches could be held throughout the day and successfully conducted the tournament in 2 days.
39 teams meant over 400 players but with the co-operation of the supporting staff of our school as well other participating schools the event was beacon of fair-play and co-ordination. Overall it was a lovely event that brought together students and staff of different schools and boards for 2 days of intense sports competition.
